Happy Holidays – 2012

It’s hard to believe that another year has gone by already, but here we are with the end of 2012 in sight. There have been a few changes around our ‘country home’, one of which you may have noticed right away…

On January 21st, we were married in a small ceremony at Killarney House, the same Irish restaurant where “shiny” (the magic that brought us together) happened. As Gregory likes to say, Anna is now Mrs. Wright … she’s just not Mrs. Always-Right. Of course, this didn’t actually change anything about our relationship; we’re still madly in love with each other and are prone to get lost in each other’s eyes even in a room full of people.

Around the same time that we were getting married, Anna formally established her pottery studio, Prancing Pony Pottery. She’s spent the past year gathering equipment, building the studio, and playing with clay. While the business is building slowly, we did attend several craft shows this fall, generally coming home with less stoneware than we took.

In May, we celebrated Marie’s (Anna’s mom) 70th birthday, with friends and family gathering to celebrate. This was Gregory’s first opportunity to meet members of Anna’s family from New Jersey, and for everyone to see the happy home that we continue to build together.

Just like last year we spent a great deal of time at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, although not necessarily in the same place. Anna ended up spending most of the season helping a potter friend sell his wares – learning a LOT about pottery and the business of selling pottery in the process. Gregory split his time between the pottery booth and Tiger Torre Art, which is owned by Anna’s sister.

Our ‘spare’ time is spent taking care of the country home and generally being ‘adorkable’. Anna still enjoys knitting on the looms, while Gregory has been doing home improvement projects and spoiling our two dogs, Tucker and Duchess.

Want to get in touch with us? Our home phone number is 540-399-1964 and you can find us both (as well as Prancing Pony Pottery) on Facebook.

Best wishes for a cheerful holiday season & an excellent New Year!
