Happy Holidays – 2011
This has been another year of rather remarkable change and growth here at the ‘country home’. The big news is that Gregory and I decided to make a life for ourselves here in Virginia. After meeting last October, we’ve been inseparable … not to mention the happiest we’ve ever been!
At the end of May, we packed up Gregory’s ‘city home’ in Baltimore and moved everything down to Richardsville. We’ve spent the time since making it our home – fixing the place up, painting and planning for the future. Combining our two households into one has been humorous at times; it seems that we both have a fondness for kitchen utensils and a lot of our belongings are complimentary.
Gregory ‘formally’ adopted Tucker and Duchess as his furry children on Christmas Day 2010. Tucker had a root canal in January and we discovered that he weighs in at a whooping 130 pounds (Duchess is a svelte 75 pounds). We recently fenced in the back yard so the dogs could have a safe place to romp, and they really enjoy having the room to run.
We spent a lot of time at the Maryland Renaissance Festival this fall helping my sister, Tiger, with her booth. It seemed fitting, not only because we both really enjoy ren faires, but that is where we met as well.
Also this fall, Anna has taken up both knitting and pottery – things she has wanted to do for a long time. We’re in the process of setting up a home pottery studio in the hopes that she can turn it into a viable business.
