Well, 2020 has certainly been an interesting year to say the least.

Despite the pandemic, we hope that this note finds you relatively sound of mind and body. And while it’s been a difficult year in so many ways, especially for some of our friends and family, please know that you are in our thoughts.

Our home improvement projects were all outdoors this year. After some major tree clearing last year, we had a gravel parking lot put in down by the workshop to accommodate both the travel trailer* and the business trailer with room to spare. Next up was putting a 14’ x 18’ patio outside the studio (basement) door, a retaining wall, stairs, and a sidewalk run out to the driveway, replacing the original 1991 asphalt walk. Two concrete truckloads and many pallets of stone block created quite the transformation.

*The troublesome travel trailer was sold in the fall and while we plan on getting another one, the RV inventory is depleted across the country so we will wait until next spring to find our next home-away-from-home on wheels.

With almost all of Prancing Pony Pottery’s shows cancelled, Anna has been focusing her attention to the online shop. Although not the same as in-person sales, it is rewarding to see those boxed-up pots going out the door.

While Greg’s work schedule has been rather wonky throughout the year, we are grateful that he’s actually been able to go into the office. And since June seems to be his month for surgery now, he underwent outpatient hernia repair. All went well and he recovered very quickly. He still enjoys puttering around in his workshop and makes lots of useful things (mostly for the pottery studio).

Brodie and Duchess are doing well albeit getting a bit grayer in their faces. They gave us quite a scare late this summer when a gate was left open and they went AWOL for about 24 hours. Thanks to the power of some quick-thinking friends and Facebook, they were located about a mile away.
