Happy Holidays - 2022
We hope that this letter finds you and yours in good spirits no matter when you are reading this post. 2022 has zipped by rather quickly for us but we are relatively healthy and happy and hope the same for you.
In March of this year, we celebrated Tiger & August’s wedding in delightful style. While the wedding was to take place outdoors, Mother Nature had other plans (but the snow made for some stunning photos).
In April, we went on a camping trip with several awesome friends at a very nice, family-owned campground in Pennsylvania. Our spot was right along the river and the view was lovely. Mother Nature decided that we needed to have all of the seasons in our one-week visit – snow, rain, fog – you name it. We also got hit with a stomach bug that was making the rounds and Anna, ever the over-achiever, got to meet the nice folks at the local ER briefly.
We’re sad to report that we lost Duchess this year. Anna always said that if she ever lost interest in food, it would be a sure sign that end was near and it was. We believe it was her liver and fortunately, it hit quick and she did not suffer. Brodie has adjusted fairly well to being the only dog in the house although he tends to be underfoot at Gregory’s desk a lot.
Speaking of Greg’s desk, he’s at it a whole more now because in July he scored a work-from-home gig. We took the opportunity to turn our home office into a more efficient workspace for both of us, with a fancy sit-stand desk and side table for Gregory. It’s awesome that we get to share all of our meals together again and go for walks when the weather permits.
Prancing Pony Pottery has had a good year despite Anna cutting back on her show schedule. At VARF this spring, we ended up renting one of the few permanent structures on the site and while there were some logistics issues, it was nice to have a real roof over our heads and to be standing on a real floor. Also new this year was having dedicated sales floor space in the Tessem Stoneware booth for her wares.
Looking forward to 2023, Anna will only participate in three shows – the Virginia Renaissance Faire, the Maryland Renaissance Festival, and the annual open house event at the studio.
We hope that you enjoy the holiday season, no matter what holidays you are celebrating!
Anna Marie, Gregory & Brodie
